SLAM128 is ULA Replacement for Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128 and Spectrum 128 +2
- SLAM128 is ULA chip CPLD replacement
- SLAM fits only in Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128 (aka Toastrack) and Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128 +2 (grey case).
- It is not compatible with models manufactured by Amstrad (in black case, +2A, +2B, +3)
Device was designed by Mark Smith and this is version with redesigned PCB by Lotharek.
Here are the differences to original design:
- this version of SLAM supplies all necessary clocks for ZX Spectrum; if your PCB has a problem with 17MHz clock, this device will help (it does not divide frequency, and then multiply it, but uses programmable Epson clock generator; PLL removed from design)
- lowered 8% input volume needed to drive ear input
- 4 layers PCB
