Installation manual (work in progress)

Prior to installation, please upgrade firmware to most present version. Devices are sent with initial firmware.

GTIA2RGB description

Step by step

  • If your GTIA is soldered into the motherboard, desolder GTIA, solder back GTIA2RGB and then insert GTIA into it. Please make sure pin one of both adapter and chip are correctly aligned.
  • If your GTIA is in the socket, remove GTIA from it, remove carefully GTIA2RGB's bottom socket (to decrease it's height), insert device into the socket on Atari motherboard and put GTIA back. Please make sure pin one of both adapter and chip are correctly aligned.
  • Start computer as usually. Press few keys. If you hear beeps/clicks from embedded speaker and Atari works, you have successfully made hardware installation.
  • Update FPGA firmware
    • Download latest firmware and save it to the disk.
    • Connect USB-C cable from GTIA2RGB and to PC.
    • Power on Atari.
    • In Device Manager in Windows new device will be detected.
    • Follow manual in order to install drivers and download software (available in the Downloads tab above). FPGA type to be used is GW1N-2B.
  • Select RGB output mode (refer to installation manual for DIP switch function description):
